A few years ago I threw away a perfectly good Computer! Why? Because I didn't know you could Fix a Slow Computer, and I thought that it was on its last leg. The memory seemed limited, too. All I did was wait...wait...wait. It was so frustrating, I just threw the darn thing away and purchased a new one.

It took forever to download information and....I knew then that buying a new computer was not the solution to the problem. After hours of talking to support lines and trying various software solutions, I discovered the cause and fixed it myself!

Nine Easy Steps to Fix A Slow Computer

1. The first thing you need to do is remove Spyware from your system. 2. Update Windows to insure that you have the latest security patches. Click Here for Microsoft updates, and follow the easy instructions to update your system. When you have finished this procedure be sure to set up your system for automatic updates so you don't forget.

3. Secure Internet Explorer making sure a few settings in the IE Tool menu are correct. From Internet Explorer select the Tools Menu, and then Internet Options. With your mouse select the "Privacy Tab". Adjust the Settings Bar to at least Medium and check the block pop-up's at the bottom of the screen.

4. Remove non-vital programs from the startup program. Go to the “Start” button and chose “Run” enter MSCONFIG and when the screen appears, use your mouse to open the Startup tab. 9. Finally open the Control Panel from the Start button. Find and open Add/Remove Program Icon. Here you will find a long list of programs that are installed on your system.
